How I finished

Well I finished the semester without a heart attack, stroke, or other major injury. I got a C+ in C++, kind of ironic. This was the class I have least enjoyed. I think in large part to the adjunct professor. He seems to have taken the creativity out of learning and is very critical of anyone "below" his skill and intelligence. I do not work well for people of this kind. Other than that class I got an A and two -A's. Overall a good semester, really wish I had done better in the C++ class though.
I have to take another class from the same professor that I took in C++. This sucks I was going to avoid taking any classes from him ever again. I do not get the way he thinks and it makes it difficult to learn from him and to meet his expectations. Anyway what can I do about it, nothing, absolutely nothing.

The Samsung Vibrant Hassle

Got to love these phone carriers. I spent over an hour trying to get a phone rep with T-mobile that knew what the heck they were talking about. I wanted the Samsung Vibrant.. without the data plan, with the text messaging plan, ordered online (because it was $60 less than through customer service), with the mail-in rebate, and a free early upgrade. Sound like I'm asking for much :-). After all I do pay them a lot and they don't do much for me except for once every 24 months. I finally found a girl who was wonderful, she did not try up-sale me and took a minute to understand what it was I wanted. T-mobile it was a long day and I am still with you because of my persistence and Michele from customer service, otherwise there are other carriers in the sea. So the phone arrives in about a week. I spent over an hour today watching people play with the phone that I so desperately want. Phones and me are like two peas in a pod, we enjoy each others company.  I did have to pay the upgrade fee of $18 which really ticks me off. Why oh why should I have to pay a fee to stay with your company? I pay you on-time every month. I use the bare minimum of my minutes and text messages. then you have the audacity to charge me for getting a new phone when I still have to pay for the phone. Greed, such greed.

Friday, June 25

Today I took a 90 minute xhtml exam. The exam was difficult and required that I use html and css to create a pre-designed web page. There was not enough time to complete the exam at my skill level so I just did what I could in 90 minutes. I really like web design, although I am no artist and think that that field of computer science may be somewhat better left to those with an eye for art. It is gratifying to design a web page. The process is immediately rewarding as you can view the page as you are creating it. I use HTML-Kit because our teacher thinks that Dreamwever would be to easy on us, and he has a point. It was a stressful test because the internet freaked out on me after only 10 minutes of starting the test. I had to unplug the Quest router and plug it in again to get back online.

Other than that the only other really exciting thing is that I called T-Mobile and asked when I can upgrade my phone. September 16th is the day!! The lady gave me a lecture on how the Android phones should have data plans, bla, bla, bal, because they do not work fully without one. I wanted to reach through the phone and slap her softly and help her understand that i am a big boy and can make my own decisions and did not ask for her opinion. But held my tongue to not risk having some bad notes put on the account that comes back to bite me come upgrade time. The Samsung Vibrant is T-Mobiles newest phone and comes from the Latin rood Samsung Galaxy S. Its an exciting phone with all the bells and whistles in a light weight tiny package. Well here goes my first post.
